Every PGT Driver is supplied with a current copy of our manual. Should you need a replacement copy, please contact your Fleet Manager to request a new PDF Safety & Load Securement Manual.

Check your log and permits

Check your tire pressure

  • Thump tires daily
  • Use your tire gauge at least weekly when tires are cold

 

Check wheel hub and fifth wheel connection

  • Check hub grease
  • Check fifth wheel visually and manually

 
Check the major points of inspection for your vehicle

Complete en route inspections

  • After first 50 miles or 1 hour
  • En route, every 150 miles or 3 hours

 

Do not drive a vehicle you believe may be unsafe

  • Contact Maintenance immediately!

A chain is only as strong as its weakest link

  • Inspect thoroughly for damaged or stretched links

A short chain is stronger than a long chain

Use enough chains

  • One for every 10,000 lbs of weight, plus a safety chain
